Have you ever looked around a room in your home and thought,
“Why doesn’t this feel done yet?”
I had that moment just last week. I was fluffing pillows in our living room and realized: it wasn’t about needing more decor... it just didn’t feel finished.
So today I wanted to share a few simple things I always do when a space feels incomplete, even if I’m not fully done decorating (because let’s be real... are we ever?).
Here’s what works like magic:
→ Add something tall. A branch in a vase, a floor lamp, or even drapes pulled high above your window frame. Vertical elements draw the eye up and add instant polish.
→ Style one cozy corner. You don’t need to tackle the whole room! I like to pick one spot (a chair, a nightstand, or even just a tray) and style it thoughtfully. It shifts the whole vibe.
→ Layer in something meaningful. A photo, a flea market find, or that handmade piece from your child or grandchild. These cozy touches give the space heart (and stop it from feeling too generic).
I promise, you don’t need to buy anything new. Most of the time, you already have what you need; you just need a little reframe. 💛
If you want to see how I pull this together in my own home, I’ve shared some cozy styling formulas in this post that ALWAYS work:

And if this hits home for you, hit reply and tell me: what room in your house still doesn’t feel done? I’d love to hear.
Stay cozy,

P.S. I’ve got something BIG coming soon to help you style every space with confidence… even on a tiny budget. Stay tuned! 🎉
This week's top find
If you’ve been wanting your room to feel cozier, darker, or just more finished, these are the drapes I keep coming back to. They were one of my top sellers from Prime Day, and for good reason! They’re thick, soft, block out light beautifully, and they hang like designer curtains for a fraction of the price. I recently hung them in my daughter's bedroom so that she could sleep better, and they work like a charm!
👉 Grab them here on Amazon* (They come in tons of sizes and colours too!)
