Have you ever created the prettiest fall porch, only to find a pumpkin getting soft and mushy a week later?
It’s the worst, especially after you’ve taken the time (and spent the money!) picking out the perfect pumpkins.
I just updated one of my most popular fall posts with my best tips for making pumpkins last longer, including what to do with them when you bring them home and one simple trick I use when decorating my porch.
I’ve also added tips for carved vs. uncarved pumpkins, how to protect pumpkins outdoors, and the common mistakes that can make them rot faster.
And if you're shopping for pumpkins locally this year, please show your local growers some extra love! I love getting mine from Somerset Farms near Edmonton, Alberta. They’ve had a difficult growing season this year, so their pumpkin selection is different from what you may have seen me share in previous years.
Supporting a local farm while filling the porch with pumpkins? That's a fall tradition I can definitely get behind.
Happy fall decorating!

P.S. If you’re not ready to decorate yet, save the pumpkin post for later. It’ll be handy when you bring that first pumpkin haul home! 🎃

🔥 This Week's Top Find: My Favourite Outdoor Solar String Lights
One of my favourite projects this year was the creation of our fire pit. I made it extra cozy with the addition of some outdoor solar-powered sting lights. They're durable, beautiful, and you can set them on a timer so they glow every night!
