It's getting dark early here now, and the second that happens I start wanting every lamp on and something warm on the coffee table.
So this week I pulled together 30 IKEA hacks that make a house feel cozy. Four of them are brand new and I've never shared them anywhere before. The rest are the ones I've made over and over again since 2009, because they actually work.
Most of them cost under $20. One of them is completely free!

A few of my favourites:
- The five minute mantel candle. A faux taper candle hot glued inside an IKEA hurricane vase, with a velvet bow tied around the neck. Turns on with a remote. No wax, no matches. This is the one people always ask me about.
- The lamp that isn't a lamp. A tall glass storage jar, faux ferns, a battery bulb and a thrifted shade. No cord, no outlet, so it can go absolutely anywhere. Nobody ever guesses.
- The free slipcover trick. If you have an IKEA sofa, this one alone is worth the watch. It costs nothing and it means you'll never steam or iron a slipcover again.
And I saved the whole Christmas section for the end, because I know some of you are already thinking about it. (I see you. I'm right there with you!!)

Here's what I'd love you to do. Pick one. Just one. Don't try to do the whole list this weekend, because that's how a project pile starts. Do the mantel candle tonight and see what it does to the room.
Then come leave me a comment on the video and tell me which number you picked. I love reading your comments and what you're up to!
Talk soon,
Christina
