I’ve been noticing lately how many little things in my house used to slowly drain my energy without me realizing it.
Not big messes. Not unfinished projects. Just small, everyday annoyances. Bags that never had a place to go. Counters that always felt cluttered even after I cleared them. Cleaning tasks I kept putting off because they felt like more work than they were worth.
Once I started paying attention to those moments, a lot changed.
Here are two simple things you can try today that made a real difference for me:
First, notice where things naturally land. If your bag always ends up in the same spot, or your keys always land on the same surface, that’s not a bad habit. It’s information. Try adding a hook, tray, or basket exactly where that thing already goes instead of fighting it.
Second, make one reset faster. Pick one surface that always feels messy and add a tray or basket to it. You don’t need to put anything away. Just group things together. It takes under a minute, but it instantly makes a space feel calmer.
I shared more of these small, practical home shifts in a new blog post, along with my latest YouTube video where you can see these ideas in action.
